Leaving for Egypt!

Scott is officially on his way to Egypt!!

He's going as part of a mission team from our church. They are going to Biet El Wadi Sports Camp just outside of Cairo where they will have the opportunity to work with Muslim kids teaching them various sports. The church also hosts a blog about their trip, it is located at www.teamlakepointe.org. I will include the link on the side of this blog for those of you who want to check it out. If you do, make sure to scroll down to the post about the crest.

Our plans are that Scott will try and email me every day, hopefully including pictures, and I will post it on the blog. From what we've heard the internet is sometimes hit or miss, but we are hoping that he can update us on what they are doing. They will be 8 hours ahead of us in Egypt, so the updates may be a day or so behind.

Also on this trip are our really good friends Larry Denny and David Bradley. And, the leader of this mission team is our friend Brad Bassett. For those of you that know these gentlemen, you know that Egypt may never be the same!!

After lots of packing....and lots of little helpers...

...we left the house at 5:45 this morning to take him to the church.
The kids were a little sad that he was going to be gone so long. We had a few tears from all of them as they got ready to board the bus.
Please pray for this amazing group of men and women and the kids they travel to Egypt to work with. Today is a monster travel day for them. They will fly from DFW to Chicago O'Hare. The flight from Chicago to Frankfurt, Germany leaves at 3:45 p.m. In Frankfurt they will change planes for the flight to Cairo. They will arrive in Cairo tomorrow afternoon around 3:00. So, a VERY long, tough travel day.Thank you to all of you for your continued support and prayers for Scott as he makes this journey.

Blessings,
Leslie
